I got in the car at 9am today to meet Justin & Olivia for their engagement session in Charlottesville. As I pulled up to Ashlawn Highlands I thought to myself “this place looks awfully familiar”. Well, when I got to the parking lot I realized this is where I shot one of my first ‘solo’ weddings! I couldn’t believe I had forgotten! I was SO nervous that day!

However, as I was taking pictures and getting to know Justin & Olivia this morning I was realizing how much I had grown as a photographer. Its hard to sometimes see growth in my own pictures/business, but when I looked at these and I thought back to that first wedding I shot there I was very grateful that I could look at my work and truly say that I’ve become a better photographer. Thank you to everyone who has helped me do that. Be it by letting me shoot your wedding, learning form my mistakes, or to all the photographers that have taught me valuable lessons/tips. Not to mention my parents for encouraging/supporting me in my business. Tonight I’m going to bed a happy, encouraged girl!

I am trilled for next year’s wedding season. I’ve already had the opportunity to meet 12 fabulous couples who’s weddings I will be shooting. Thank you in advance to each and every one of you for letting me share your big day with you! I am beyond excited.
