Annual Shoot & Share Contest Results

Many of you will remember seeing this adorable face take first place in an international competition last January. He stole the hearts of many! Cute as he is, I am still humbled and surprised that I won 1st place in the Children’s category of this huge contest.

This year I entered again, and though 4 times as many photographs were submitted, I was thrilled to find some of my images in the finals and top 10, 20 and 30%. There were 110,928 images were submitted into 21 different categories. A total of 23,154,356 votes were cast!

I loved that this wasn’t a ‘popularity contest’. There was no way for me to promote any of my images. If you chose to vote, 4 images in the same category would be displayed at the same time and the voter would simply select their favorite. Needless to say I could spend hours upon hours admiring so many fantastic photographs!

This little munchkin is the daughter of a dear friend of mine! I had the privilege of photographer her a few times before they moved to Chicago!

This was for a fun barn wedding with Woody & Libby! Loved the green accents and the bowtie was such a perfect fit for their day!2015-07-01_0005

Nick and Taylor were such troopers. It rained the entire day. They were getting married on Nick’s family’s property with the reception under a tent. They ended up doing the ceremony under there also and never once complained about the rain! They loved their day and the joy they had was contagious!

6 Month sessions are my favorite kid-age. Too young to run around, but old enough to respond and laugh! Peek-a-boo is the best! This little guy is always so smiley!2015-07-01_0007

Emily’s Bridals took place at the Historic Mankin Mansion in Richmond, VA. I had the privilege of shooting there a few times before moving to Charlotte, NC but I never could resist that window!
